The old generations of Mahadevas are mentioned verbatim in the stories of Gondi Geet (Pata), Kahani. In the Mahadevas, the first generation is Sambhu-moolah in the middle generation, Shambhu-gaura in the middle generation and Shambhu-parvati in the last generation. Chief among them are Shambhu-Moola, Shambhu-Gonda, Shambhu-Sayya, Shambhu-Ramla, Shambhu-Biro, Shambhu-Riya, Shambhu-Anidi, Shambhu-Tamma, Shambhu-Gavra, Shambhu-Bela, Shambhu-Libra Tulsa, Shambhu-Tulsa , Sambhu-tulsa-girza, sambhu-sati etc., and finally Sambhu-parvati ji is mentioned. With the generation of these Mahadevas there is also the saga of many Lingas (religious priests). The Gondi language is the mother tongue of the Gondwana Kingdom. Gondi is the mother of many indigenous languages because of the five languages. According to the Gondi Dharma philosophy, the Gondi language originates from the Dhamru of the goddess Shambhu Sheikh, also known as the Gondi language or Gondwani. Being a very ancient language, the Gondi language is almost complete. The Gondi language has its own script, and grammar has been published by Gondi literary books from time to time. The descendants of the kingdom of Gondwana should be aware of their linguistic script. Language is the mother of society, so it is also given in the form of "mother tongue" to emotions. Gondian society has its own mother tongue, Gondi, which must be stored as a form of assessment from feelings and dignity. The language spoken by Gondo is called Gondi or Parsi. Bhil Darshan: An Introductionभील दर्शन : एक परिचय
वर्ष 1916 में ब्रिटिश प्रशासक आर्थर हेनरी एडेनब्रुक सिमकोक्स ने अपनी किताब ए मेमॉयर ऑफ़ द खानदेश भील कॉर्प्स, 1825-1891 में लिखा, “भील निस्संदेह उन ट्राइब्स में से एक हैं, जिन्होंने आर्यन के आक्रमण से पहले प्रायद्वीपीय भारत में निवास किया था।” हम यह भली भाँति जानते हैं कि भील लोक भारतभूमि के आदिवासी समुदाय है। आदिवासी से आशय है कि आदिकाल से रहने वाला समुदाय या इंडिजेनस/एबोरिजिनल।
भीलों के ऐतिहासिक, दार्शनिक ज्ञान हेतु मैंने भीलों के अग्रलिखित निवास क्षेत्रों का आंशिक भ्रमण कर अवलोकन किया और पाया कि आदिकाल से लेकर आज तक जिस-जिस क्षेत्र में भील समुदाय के लोग निवास कर रहे हैं, वह क्षेत्र भारत के चार बड़े राज्यों में बड़े पैमाने पर फैला हुआ है। मध्यप्रदेश में बीस से अधिक जिलों में भील समुदाय के लोग रहते हैं, जिसमें प्रमुख जिले – झाबुआ, अलिराजपुर, धार, बड़वानी, खरगोन, रतलाम हैं। इसी प्रकार भील समुदाय के लोग महाराष्ट्र, गुजरात, राजस्थान आदि राज्यों में सदियों से प्रकृति प्रदत्त जीवन शैली के साथ आज भी निवास कर रहे हैं। इन्हीं राज्यों में भीलों के कई उप समुदाय भी रहते है , जिनके नाम हैं – बारेला, भिलाला, तड़वी, वसावा, नायक, पटलिया, मानकर, मीणा आदि। ये सभी उप समुदायों के रीति -रिवाज, परम्पराएं, संस्कृति, कला, साहित्य आदि में बहुत साम्यता है।
स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में हजारों की तादाद में भील समुदाय के योद्धा शहीद हुये है। जिन में से प्रमुख योद्धाओं के नाम है- टंटया भील, भीमानायक, खाज्या नायक ,कालीबाई भील, सुरसी बाई नायक गुल्या नायक, भागोजी नाईक आदि।
भील दर्शन हेतु भीलों की संस्कृति से सम्बंधित भीलों का इतिहास, उनकी भाषा, उनके लोक देवता, गाथाएं, पारंपरिक वाद्य यंत्र जैसी विशिष्टताओं का अध्ययन महत्वपूर्ण है।
भीलों के ऐतिहासिक दर्शन से ज्ञात होता है कि भीलों का भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में विशिष्ट योगदान रहा है। यह भी सत्य है कि स्वतंत्रता संग्राम से पहले भी भीलों का इतिहास गौरवान्वित करने वाला रहा है । महाराणा प्रताप को पहचान उस समय मिली थी, जिस समय भील लड़ाकू पूंजा भील ने अपनी विशाल भीली सेना का नेतृत्व करते हुए मुगलों से युद्ध किया और महाराणा प्रताप सिंह का सहयोग किया। बाद में महाराणा प्रताप सिंह को युद्ध में सफलता मिली । इस आधार पर महाराणा प्रताप सिंह की मां ने योद्धा पूंजा भील को अपना दूसरा बेटा मानते हुए उसे ‘राणा पूंजा भील’ कहा था।
हमने साहित्य या इतिहास में यह पढा है कि महाराणा प्रताप सिंह मुगलों से युद्ध में पराजित होने पर राजस्थान के जंगलों में घांस-फूस की रोटी खाकर लम्बे समय तक जीवित रहे। साहित्य और इतिहास के विद्वानों ने स्वयं की प्रशंसा के लिये यह गलत तर्क दे दिया । सही तथ्य यह है कि मनुष्य कभी भी घांस-फूस नहीं खाता है। घास- फूस की रोटी बनती भी नहीं है। उस समय भी भील समुदाय के लोगों ने ही महाराणा प्रताप सिंह को लावरिया, तितरिया, सेसल्या आदि का शिकार किया और उस शिकार को भूंजकर उन्हें खिलाया और लम्बे समय तक उन्हें मुगलों से छिपाकर जीवित रखा। यह सच है कि सदियों से असहाय मनुष्यों की सहायता करना भीलों की संस्कृति रही है। अर्थात यह सत्य है कि महाराणा प्रताप सिंह को भीलों ने उस समय जंगल में शरण दी थी।

उपरोक्त संघर्षों के साथ ही भीली भाषा का भी एक गौरवपूर्ण इतिहास रहा है। भील शब्द की उत्पत्ति कैसे हुई? इस तथ्य से सम्बंधित भीलांचल क्षेत्र के कई भील समुदाय के बुजुर्ग एवं जानकारों से चर्चा करने पर ज्ञात हुआ कि “भील तीर-कमान धारण करने वाले आदिवासी समुदाय हैं। भीली भाषा में तीर को बीलखा (बहुवचन) या बीलखी (एकवचन) कहा जाता है । इस आधार पर यह प्रथम तर्क है कि ‘बीलखा’ शब्द से ही ‘भील’ शब्द प्रचलित हुआ है। वर्तमान में यह शब्द भील समुदाय के लोगों को साहसी और कभी न समर्पण करने वाले आदिवासी समुदाय होने का परिचय देता है।”[1]
भील-भिलाले और बारेला उप-समुदाय के लोग एकजुट होने को भीली बोली में “भेला होणा” कहते हैं। भील समुदाय के लोग एकत्रित होकर ही समाज की संस्कृति और आदिम सभ्यता का निर्वाह सदियों से करते आये हैं। इस आधार से यह भी हो सकता है कि “भेला होणा” शब्द बाद में भील समुदाय की पहचान बनी। इसी आधार पर द्वितीय तर्क यह है कि भील समुदाय के लोग गैर आदिवासियों के सम्मुख या दूसरे आदिवासी समुदाय के सम्मुख स्वयं को कहते है कि “मैं भीलड़ा हूँ” या “हामू भीलड़ा छे” अर्थात हम भील लोग हैं।”[2] इस कथन से आशय है कि भील, कभी हार नहीं मानने वाले, आदिवासी समुदाय के साहसी लोग हैं।
यह एक भ्रांति ही है कि भीलों का नाम आदिकाल में निषाद रहा है। वेदों में भीलों के साथ- साथ अन्य आदिवासियों को भी निषाद, निसाचर, राक्षस, असुर, वनमानुष, मायावी आदि शाब्दिक नामों की अमानवीय दृष्टि से सम्बोधित किया गया। “मायावी” शब्द से आशय यह होता है कि आदिवासी लोग तंत्र मंत्र के जानकार हैं, वे लोग विज्ञान और तकनीकी को जानते हैं। भीली भाषा के तंत्र -मंत्र बहुत शक्तिशाली माने जाते हैं। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि भीमानायक के शरीर पर अंग्रेजों की बंदुक की गोलियों का कोई असर नहीं होता था। वह अपने तंत्र- मंत्र से बंदुक की गोलियों को बेअसर कर देते थे। दूसरा तथ्य प्रत्यक्ष अवलोकन में पाया कि नीमच जिले के भीलों द्वारा अपनी भीली भाषा के तंत्र- मंत्र से मधु मख्खियों के काटने से उन्हें रोक दिया और पेड़ पर चढ़ कर सभी मधु मख्खियों को अपने हाथों से थैले में भरकर जंगल में छोड़ दिया गया। भीलांचल के विभिन्न भीलों के गाँवों में भ्रमण में पाया कि भीलों की भाषा समृद्ध भाषा है। सुबह से लेकर सायं तक उनमें लोक व्यवहार के लिए उनके पास भीली भाषा के ढेरों शब्द हैं। यह भी पाया गया कि उनके त्योहारों और संस्कारों से सम्बंधित भीली भाषा के कई शब्द भण्डार उनके पास मौखिक साहित्य के रूप में उपलब्ध हैं। जिसका वे समय-समय पर बोलचाल में उपयोग करते हैं।
भीलों के पारंपरिक वाद्य यंत्रों से जो तरंगें उत्पन्न होती हैं, उन्हीं के माध्यम से लोग अपने पूर्वजों को उनके त्योहारों के लिए आमंत्रित करते हैं। जंगलों में भील ग्वाले आज भी वाद्ययंत्र की तरंगों के माध्यम से अपने जानवरों को बुलाते हैं और जानवर भी उनके पीछे दौड़ते चले जाते हैं। अतः यह सत्य है कि वैज्ञानिकों से पहले आदिवासियों ने तरंगों को महसूस किया था।
भीलों की विश्वास प्रणाली में लोक देवताओं से जुड़ी भी कई लोक कथाएं प्रचलित हैं। उनके लोक देवता कोई और नहीं उनके पूर्वज अर्थात उनके पुरखे होते हैं। जैसे-
“धारण”: भीलों के प्रत्येक मकानों में उनकी कुल देवी (या ‘धारण’) स्थापित की जाती हैं। धारण की पूजा को ही भील समुदाय के लोग कुलदेवी की पूजा करना कहते हैं। यह भीलों की लोक देवता मानी जाती है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि जब से भीलों की उत्पत्ति हुई है, तब से (धारण) कुलदेवी की प्रतिमा उनके मकानों में स्थापित है। उनके मकानों में यह धारण (कुल देवता) भीलों का पूजा स्थल होता है। विवाह के आयोजन में धारण की विशिष्ट पूजा को भील समुदाय के लोग घिरसेरी पूजना कहते हैं।
“बापदेव”: भीलों के गांवों में आदिकाल से उनके लोक देवता बापदेव स्थापित हैं। भीली भाषा में बापदेव को बाबूढा कहा जाता है। ‘बाबूढा’ शब्द का अर्थ है – बूढ़े-बूढ़े बाप दादाओं के दादा। इस स्थान पर भील लोग अपने पुरखों को याद करते हैं, महुएं की दारू तड़पते हैं। भीलों में विवाह आयोजन में भी बापदेव की विशेष पूजा की जाती है।
“राणी काजल माता”: ऐसा माना जाता है कि भीलों के निवास क्षेत्र के समीप ऊंची-ऊंची पहाड़ियों पर भीलों के सभी गांवों में सदियों से राणी काजल माता की प्रतिमाएँ स्थापित है। यह भी भीलों की लोक देवता है। शोध कार्य से ज्ञात हुआ कि वर्षा ऋतु में सूखा पड़ने की स्थिति में भीलों द्वारा अपनी लोक देवी रानी काजल माता की पूजा करते हुए गायणा गाते है, जिसे हिन्दी में गाथा कहा जाता है।
“गुहा बाबा”: गुहा बाबा को भील समुदाय के लोग पशुओं के लोक देवता कहते हैं। यह ज्ञात हुआ है कि भीलों में दीवाली को पशुओं का पर्व माना जाता हैं। इस अवसर पर वे अपने-अपने पशुओं को गुहा बाबा की परिक्रमा करवाते हैं और गुहा बाबा से विनती करते हैं कि वह भीलों के पशुओं को सुखी और निरोग बनाए रखें।
“सात माताएं”: सात माताएं भी भीलों की लोक देवता मानी जाती है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि उनके गांव में किसी प्रकार की बीमारी को रोकने का कार्य सात माताएँ करती है। प्राकृतिक प्रकोप से सम्बंधित बिमारियों के लिए भीलों में सात माताओं की पूजा की जाती है और मन्नत ली जाती हैं।[3] इस आधार पर यह सत्य है कि भीलों में अपने लोक देवताओं के प्रति अटूट विश्वास होता है।
भीलों के इतिहास और संस्कृति मुख्य रूप से उनके लोक गीतों में उपस्थित है। भीलों द्वारा प्रमुख रूप से जो गायणा (गाथाएं) गाया जाता है, उसमें से राणी काजल माता, झाड़- फूंक, बड़वा ख्याल, पिठौरा बाबा, नवाई पर्व आदि हैं। सभी गायणा में भीलों की विशिष्ट संस्कृति का परिचय दिखाई देता है। उनकी विशिष्टता यह है कि उनके द्वारा जो गाथाएं गाई जाती है वह लिखित रूप में नहीं हैं। वाचिक रूप में भीलों के गायणा आज भी जीवित हैं।
यह देखा जा सकता है कि पढ़े लिखे व्यक्ति से अधिक प्रभावी रूप से गायणे को निरक्षर भील लोग गाते हैं। उनके सांस्कृतिक व्यक्तित्व को देखकर ऐसा लगता है कि उन्हें किसी प्रशिक्षण की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ती है। भीलों की संस्कृति ही इतनी समृद्ध है कि भील अपनी भाषा में गीत गाते हैं, नाचते जाते है। भीलों द्वारा गायणा का आयोजन ब्रह्माण्ड के सम्पूर्ण प्राणियों के हित में गाये जाते है। जीव उत्पत्ति की अवधारणा अर्थात परिकल्पनाओं से लेकर वर्तमान समय तक को मौखिक रूप से गायणा में प्रस्तुत किया जाता है। जो व्यक्ति यह कथा गाकर सुनाता है, उसके गीत को ढाक वादन के साथ गायणा कहते हैं। इस गायणे पर जो बड़वा नाचते हुये नृत्य करता है, उसे बड़वा ख्याल की गाथा भी कहा जाता है। जिन्हें गायणा की सम्पूर्ण मौखिक जानकारी होती है। वे समूह में ढाक (डमरू के आकार का वादय यंत्र) बजाकर गायणा के गीत गाते है और जब तक गायणा के प्रारंभ से लेकर उसके आखिरी तक गाया जाता है। गायणा के समय बीच-बीच में बड़वा को ढाक बजाकर और गीत गाकर रात भर नचाते हैं।[4]
भीलों के पारंपरिक वाद्य यंत्रों में ढाक (डमरूनुमा ), पावलु ,पिया , बाँसुरी आदि प्रमुख हैं। इन वाद्ययंत्र की मधुर तरंगें पृथ्वी के सम्पूर्ण जीव सुनते और महसूस करते हैं। इन वाद्य यंत्रों से जो तरंगें उत्पन्न होती हैं, उन्हीं के माध्यम से भील समुदाय के लोग अपने पूर्वजों को उनके त्योहारों के लिए आमंत्रित करते हैं। जंगलों में भील ग्वाले आज भी वाद्ययंत्र की तरंगों के माध्यम से अपने जानवरों को बुलाते हैं और जानवर भी उनके पीछे दौड़ते चले जाते हैं। अतः यह सत्य है कि वैज्ञानिकों से पहले आदिवासियों ने तरंगों को महसूस किया था। भीलों की पूजा पद्धति पूर्ण रूप से प्रकृति को समर्पित होती है। किसी भी सांस्कृतिक आयोजनों के शुरूआत में वे दारू को तरपते हुये कहते हैं कि “हे! चाँद, सूरज, आग, हवा, पानी, धरती, अन्न दाणा और पुर्खो की आत्माओं को हम याद करते है।”[5] ऐसा कहते हुए धीरे -धीरे महुआ की दारु की बुँदे धरती पर गिराते है।
इस तरह, भील समुदाय के विभिन्न ऐतिहासिक, सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक पहलुओं से ज्ञात होता है कि भील दर्शन एक संपन्न रूप में आज भी जीवित है। उनका साहित्य मौखिक रूप से उनके पास है और यही मौखिक परम्परा उनकी संस्कृति को जीवित रखने का कार्य कर रही है।

बड़ादेव (सृजन करने वाली शक्ति), दुल्हा दुल्ही देव (शादी विवाह सूत्र में बाँधने वाला देव), पंडापुजारी भूमकाल (रोग दोष का निवारण करने वाला देव), बूड़ादेव (बूढाल पेन) कुलदेवता या पुरखा, जिसमे उनके माता पिता को भी सम्मिलित किया जाता है, नारायण देव और गोंडों के मुख्य देवता हैं। इनके अतिरिक्त ग्रामों में ग्राम देवता के रूप में खैरोमाई (ग्राम की माता), ठाकुर देव, खीला मुठ्वा, नारसेन (ग्राम की सीमा पर पहरा देने वाला देव), ग्राम के लोगों की सुरक्षा, फसलों की सुरक्षा, पशुओं की सुरक्षा, शिकार, बीमारियों और वर्षा आदि के भिन्न भिन्न देवी देवता हैं। इन देवताओं को बकरे और मुर्गे आदि की बलि देकर प्रसन्न किया जाता है। गोंडों का भूत प्रेत और जादू टोने में अत्यधिक विश्वास रहता है और इनके जीवन में जादू टोने की भरमार होता है। किंतु बाहरी जगत् के संपर्क के प्रभावस्वरूप इधर इसमें कुछ कमी हुई है। अनेक गोंड लंबे समय से हिन्दू धर्म तथा संस्कृति के प्रभाव में हैं और कितनी ही जातियों तथा कबीलों ने बहुत से हिंदू विश्वासों, देवी देवताओं, रीति रिवाजों तथा वेशभूषा को अपना लिया है। पुरानी प्रथा के अनुसार मृतकों को दफनाया जाता है, किंतु बड़े और धनी लोगों के शव को जलाया जाने लगा है। स्त्रियाँ तथा बच्चे दफनाए जाते हैं।
आस्ट्रोलायड नस्ल की जनजातियों की भाँति विवाह संबंध के लिये गोंड भी सर्वत्र दो या अधिक बड़े समूहों में बंटे रहते हैं। एक समूह के अंदर की सभी शांखाओं के लोग 'भाई बंद' कहलाते हैं और सब शाखाएँ मिलकर एक समूह बनाती हैं। कुछ क्षेत्रों से पाँच, छह और सात देव सगा की पूजा करनेवालों के नाम से ऐसे समूह मिलते हैं। विवाह के लिये लड़के द्वारा लड़की को घर जाकर रिस्ता मांगने की प्रथा है। भीतरी भागों में विवाह पूरे ग्राम समुदाय द्वारा संपन्न होता है और वही सब विवाह संबंधी कार्यो के लिये जिम्मेदार होता है। ऐसे अवसर पर कई दिन तक सामूहिक भोज और सामूहिक नृत्यगान चलता है। हर त्यौहार तथा उत्सव का आवश्यक अंग है। वधूमूल्य की प्रथा है और इसके लिए बैल तथा कपड़े दिए जाते हैं।
युवकों की मनोरंजन संस्था - गोतुल का गोंडों के जीवन पर बहुत प्रभाव है। बस्ती से दूर गाँव के अविवाहित युवक एक बड़ा घर बनाते हैं। जहाँ वे रात्रि में नाचते, गाते और सोते हैं; एक ऐसा ही घर अविवाहित युवतियाँ भी तैयार करती हैं। बस्तर के मारिया गोंडों में अविवाहित युवक और युवतियों का एक ही कक्ष होता है जहाँ वे मिलकर नाचगान करते हैं।
गोंड खेतिहर हैं और परंपरा से दहिया खेती करते हैं जो जंगल को जलाकर उसकी राख में की जाती है और जब एक स्थान की उर्वरता तथा जंगल समाप्त हो जाता है तब वहाँ से हटकर दूसरे स्थान को चुन लेते हैं। किंतु सरकारी निषेध के कारण यह प्रथा बहुत कम हो गई है। समस्त गाँव की भूमि समुदाय की सपत्ति होती है और खेती के लिये व्यक्तिगत परिवरों को आवश्यकतानुसार दी जाती है। दहिया खेती पर रोक लगने से और आबादी के दबाव के कारण अनेक समूहों को बाहरी क्षेत्रों तथा मैदानों की ओर आना पड़ा। किंतु वनप्रिय होने के कारण गोंड समूह शुरू से खेती की उपजाऊ जमीन की ओर आकृष्ट न हो सके और धीरे धीरे बाहरी लोगों ने इनके इलाकों की कृषियोग्य भूमि पर सहमतिपूर्ण अधिकार कर लिया। इस दृष्टि से गोंड कि बड़ी उपजाति मिलती हैं : एक तो वे हैं जो सामान्य किसान और भूमिधर हो गए हैं, जैसे-: रघुवल, डडवे और कतुल्या गोंड। दूसरे वे हैं जो मिले जुले गाँवों में खेत मजदूरों, भाड़ झोंकने, पशु चराने और पालकी ढोने जैसे सेवक जातियों के काम करते हैं।
गोंडों का प्रदेश गोंडवाना के नाम से भी प्रसिद्ध है जहाँ 15वीं तथा 17वीं शताब्दी राजगौंड राजवंशों के शासन स्थापित थे। किंतु गोंडों की छिटपुट आबादी समस्त मध्यप्रदेश में है। उड़ीसा, आंध्र और बिहार राज्यों में से प्रत्येक में दो से लेकर चार लाख तक गोंड हैं। असम के चाय बगीचोंवाले क्षेत्र में 50 हजार से अधिक गोंड आबाद हैं। इनके अतिरिक्त महाराष्ट्र और राजस्थान के कुछ क्षेत्रों में भी गोंड आबाद हैं। गोंडों की कुल आबादी 30 से 40 लाख के बीच आँकी जाती है, यद्यपि सन् 1941 की जनगणना के अनुसार यह संख्या 25 लाख है। इसका कारण यह है कि अनेक गोंड जातियाँ अपने को हिंदू जातियों में गिन जाती हैं। बंगाल, बिहार और उत्तर प्रदेश के दक्षिणी भागों में भी कुछ गोंड जातियाँ हैं जो हिंदू समाज का अंग बन गई हैं। गोंड जनजाति के लोग 12 जातियों में विभक्त हैं। किंतु उनकी 50 से अधिक उपजातियाँ हैं जिनमें ऊँच नीच का भेदभाव भी है।
वास्तव में गोंडों को शुद्ध रूप में एक जनजाति कहना कठिन है। इनके विभिन्न समूह सभ्यता के विभिन्न स्तरों पर हैं और धर्म, भाषा तथा वेशभूषा संबंधी एकता भी उनमें नहीं है; न कोई ऐसा जनजातिय संगठन है जो सब गोंडों को एकता के सूत्र में बाँधता हो। उदाहरणार्थ राजगौंड समाज क्षत्रिय है ये समाज गौड़ से भिन्न है इनका इतिहास बहुत पुराना और रहस्यमई है चुके हैं। इनका इतिहास बहुत गौरवशाली है। राजगौंड ने हिंदू धर्म से संबंधित है, कुछ ने इस्लाम को चुना है।लेकिन अब ध्रुव गोंड समाज हल्बा ,प्रधान ,उराव भील। . ...... सभी समाज एक सूत्र में बँधकर बंधने का शसक्त प्रयास कर रहे है

Deogarh Fort is located in the village of Deogarh in Mohakhed Block, 40 km from Chhindwara district. On the Chhindwara Nagpur Highway, from Umarnala to Mohangarh Lohngi village to Devganj village. After the killing of Jatwa, Ransur and Ghansur, the founder of the Gond force at Dioharh, the Gondi Shakti flag was hoisted at the Deogarh fort. Raja Jatwa was so influential and famous that Akbar himself came to Deogarh in 1590 AD from Great Delhi to meet him and was honored with many gifts and honors (Siddhok, 1899). 60 years after the administration of Gaurav Shali. Raja Jatwa also built the Pattansavangi and Nagardhan forts along with the Devagiri (Russell, 1907).
